Samuel Curtis Receives Award for USP 2025

Samuel Curtis - Bartley Lab Volunteer

Congratulations to Samuel Curtis for receiving a second year of support through the UF Scholars Program (USP) in March 2025! His project, “BRIDGE the Gap: Bolstering Resources for Inclusive Dental Growth and Equity in Gainesville, Florida,” was one of only five undergraduate projects selected by UF College of Dentistry this year.

Through this prestigious program, Sam will continue his research with Dr. Emily Bartley and Dr. Olga Ensz, focusing on recruiting patients from the UF Care One Clinic during the 2025-2026 academic year. His work aims to examine the barriers and facilitators to accessing dental care, providing valuable insights into the oral health challenges faced by vulnerable populations.

This project represents an important step toward improving dental care accessibility and equity in Gainesville.

Congratulations Samuel!
